Professional music videos combined with phenomenal sound – What is the easiest and most clever way to make professional Full HD videos that are set to impressive high-fidelity sound? Simply take a compact system camera such as the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and a Linear PCM audio recorder, e.g. the Olympus LS-100 – and you are ready to roll.

Professional videos combined with hifi sound
Nowadays many cameras incorporate a Full HD video function that allows you to create movies in top quality. However over the past few years it is not only the resolution that has significantly increased. Cameras such as the Olympus OM-D now provide exceptional image stabilization, creative functions and the possibility to experiment with depth of field. Thanks to bright interchangeable lenses and high ISO settings, the image quality is now often better than that of conventional camcorders. What is missing though is the perfect sound. While the OM-D already offers impressive audio recording capabilities, anyone who wishes to record in hifi quality should make use of an external Linear PCM audio recorder, such as the one from the Olympus LS series.

A sound revolution for movies
The LS-100 is a premium choice to record video sounds that truthfully convey the atmosphere of any situation. Due to its expansive 20-20,000Hz frequency response, the recorder ensures that the kick of a bass drum is captured just as precisely as the crash of a cymbal. And because the LS-100 can also handle a sound pressure level of up to 140 dBSPL it will always capture exactly what you want – from atmospheric backgrounds to thumping live concerts. Different instruments may also be individually recorded on separate tracks and mixed down later. Moreover, the LS-100 features dual XLR/Phone combo jacks for easy and direct connection of professional external microphones or other instruments. The recorder can be easily connected to the camera hot-shoe using a separately available adapter – and then you are all set: the LS-100 records in the highest possible audio quality while the camera captures the video images in Full HD splendor.
